Nissan Versa (N17): Low-pressure flexible hose

Nissan Versa 2nd generation (N17) Service Manual / Ventilation, heater & air conditioner / Heater & air conditioning system (HA) / Low-pressure flexible hose

Removal and Installation

CAUTION: Perform oil return operation before each refrigeration system disassembly. However, if a large amount of refrigerant or oil is detected, do not perform oil return operation. Refer to HA "Perform Oil Return Operation".

REMOVAL

  1. Use refrigerant collecting equipment (for HFC-134a) to discharge the refrigerant. Refer to HA "Refrigerant Cycle".
  2. Remove air duct (inlet). Refer to EM "Removal and Installation".
  3. Remove the engine under cover. Refer to EXT "Removal and Installation".
  4. Remove low-pressure flexible hose nuts and position lower dash insulator as necessary.
  5. Remove low-pressure flexible hose bolt and disconnect low-pressure flexible hose from expansion valve.

CAUTION: Cap or wrap the joint of the A/C piping and expansion valve with suitable material such as vinyl tape to avoid the entry of air.

  6. Remove low-pressure flexible hose bracket nuts and bracket from the vehicle.
  7. Remove low-pressure flexible hose bolt and disconnect low-pressure flexible hose from the compressor.

CAUTION: Cap or wrap the joint of the A/C piping and compressor with suitable material such as vinyl tape to avoid the entry of air.

  8. Disconnect vacuum hose from intake manifold. Refer to EM "Exploded View".
  9. Remove the low-pressure flexible hose.

INSTALLATION

Installation is in the reverse order of removal.

CAUTION:

  • Do not reuse O-rings.
  • Apply A/C oil to the O-ring of the low-pressure flexible hose for installation.
  • After charging the A/C refrigerant, check for leaks. Refer to HA "Leak Test".
