DRUM BRAKE : Inspection

BRAKE LINING

• Check the lining thickness (A).
• Check the lining for excessive wear, damage, and peeling.
• Repair or replace any components as necessary.

Brake lining specifications : Refer to BR "Rear Drum Brake".

BRAKE DRUM

• Check the inner diameter of brake drum.
• Shoe sliding surface for excessive wear and damage.
• Check the inside of the drum for excessive wear, damage, and cracks.

  NOTE: Measurement area is the lining contact surface (center).

• Repair or replace any components as necessary.

Brake lining specifications : Refer to BR "Rear Drum Brake".

WHEEL CYLINDER

• Check the wheel cylinder for brake fluid leakage.
• Check for wear, damage, and looseness.
• Check the return spring for settling.
• Check the back plate for damage, cracks, and deformation.
• Repair or replace any components as necessary.
